The aesthetic aspect of products is becoming increasingly important. One of the most crucial factors in the appearance of a product is its surface quality. Surface-QI is based on patented vision technology that enhances the ability to detect and classify surface defects and structures. The versatile Surface-QI system can be installed in several positions along the production line, for instance immediately after laminate pressing or after the surface finishing process.
Surface-QI is available in three versions, each optimised for a particular type of surface.
Surface-QI Varnish inspects surfaces that have a “random pattern”. Typical examples include clear varnished furniture parts in solid wood and in veneers with a visible grain. Other examples are hardwood and laminate flooring.

Surface-QI Paint inspects monochrome surfaces, where the paint conceals the grain. The system has been developed for furniture and kitchen units, but other monochrome surfaces can also be inspected

Surface-QI Foil inspects foiled surfaces. The system inspects foiled sections such as those common in the furniture and kitchen industry
